Purpose of the Role

To be the on-ground HR presence at the Talod plant, executing recruitment, statutory compliance, payroll coordination, and employee relations under the direction of the Head of HR. This role ensures company-wide HR policy and process are consistently and reliably delivered at the plant level, not designed independently of it.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding Support

  • Execute plant-level recruitment across shop floor, plant engineering, and plant administrative roles, against hiring plans and role definitions set by the Head of HR
  • Coordinate sourcing through ITI tie-ups, walk-in drives and job portals, along with initial screening, routing final offer decisions through the Head of HR per the approval matrix
  • Conduct on-ground onboarding and induction for every plant joiner, covering safety briefing, plant orientation, and documentation

Policy Implementation & Local Compliance

  • Implement and communicate HR policies set by the Head of HR at the plant level, covering leave, attendance, code of conduct, grievance redressal and POSH
  • Maintain plant-level statutory compliance registers (Factories Act, Contract Labour Act) and flag renewal and filing deadlines to the Head of HR ahead of time
  • Serve as the plant's point of contact for PF/ESIC and Labour Inspector coordination, under the Head of HR's oversight

Payroll Coordination (Plant)

  • Collect and validate plant attendance, shift, and overtime data for monthly payroll processing
  • Support the Head of HR and Finance with statutory deduction data and wage disbursement for plant employees, including the contractual workforce

Employee Relations, First Line

  • Serve as the first point of contact for plant-level employee grievances, escalating unresolved or sensitive matters to the Head of HR promptly
  • Conduct regular shop-floor check-ins and surface emerging issues early, rather than letting them accumulate
  • Support separation processes at the plant, covering documentation and full-and-final coordination, per the process set by the Head of HR

Performance & Engagement Execution

  • Administer the plant-level performance appraisal cycle per the framework set by the Head of HR, collecting inputs, tracking timelines and ensuring manager compliance
  • Execute plant engagement initiatives designed at the company level, such as safety weeks, recognition events and welfare activities
  • Coordinate plant-level training logistics for safety certifications and skill programs scheduled by the Head of HR / L&D function

Candidate Profile

Must Have

  • 3 to 5 years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or plant environment
  • Comfortable executing recruitment across both blue-collar (ITI-skilled) and plant engineering/admin roles
  • Working knowledge of statutory compliance basics such as PF, ESIC and the Factories Act, at an execution level
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, with willingness to learn the company's HRIS/payroll tool
  • Fluency in Gujarati and Hindi for shop-floor communication, with working English for reporting to the Head of HR

Good to Have

  • Experience reporting into a centralized or corporate HR function, rather than running an independent plant HR desk
  • Familiarity with contract labour documentation and renewal cycles

Behavioural Competencies

Reliable execution

Delivers what the Head of HR asks for, on time, without needing to be chased.

Ground-level connect

Comfortable and trusted on the shop floor.
